Free Tool for System Administrators
(April 20, 2005) The folks at Aptitune Corporation have provided another contribution to the Sys Admin community. Aptitune has made their DNLC Monitor for Solaris SPARC, available to System Administrators, free of charge. The DNLC tool lets you see the values related to the Directory Name Lookup Cache and how it is being used by the Operating System. This utility is a spinoff from the development of SarCheck® and Aptitune is providing it for free, as a way of thanking the Solaris community for the success of SarCheck.
SarCheck® is designed to assist administrators in the analysis of system performance by translating the output of sar and ps-elf, in a plain English report. SarCheck runs on Solaris SPARC, HP-UX, and AIX UNIX platforms, as well as Linux
