SarCheck Propeller Hats! Big News!! Our
propeller hats won NewsForge's incredibly prestigious
"Best Swag" award at LinuxWorld 2006 in San
Francisco. Thanks to Robin "Roblimo" Miller and
anyone else responsible for this totally humbling award.
If you'd like your very own propeller hat, be sure to
visit our booth at one of many
upcoming conferences. We bring more hats to the
American conferences because the propellerhead mystique
is more a part of American culture. Unfortunately, we
never seem to bring enough hats so you'll come early and
come often.
Version 4 of our hat was released on September 25, 2002 at HP World 2002 in Los Angeles, California. The maker of our hats created this special limited edition and we thought that we'd give it a try. The hats were a really big hit with everyone and as always, we had attendees and exhibitors lining up to get their hat. If you think we ought to have another batch of these special red white, and blue hats made for a future conference, just let us know. These hats are designed to look good in your office and will make your manager very aware of just how impressive your technical skills are.
Version 2 of our hat was released on June 9, 1999 at the USENIX '99 trade show and hundreds more were given away at LISA '99 in Seattle. Just about everyone wanted one and we had vendors from other booths and hotel employees (see photo) trying them on! We gave away every hat that we had, and we took lots of pictures of people wearing them.
Why propeller hats? Because SarCheck can help to make your system fly! And besides, propellerheads love them. Cross-cultural hats: The picture at the bottom of this page shows a prototype that we were displaying at a conference in Stockholm. As part of our internationalization efforts, we built this prototype and it was so well received by the conference delegates at NordU2001 in Sweden that we brought it with us to NordU2002 in Finland. Please note that we mean no disrespect when we attach a propeller to a hat with cultural significance.
Would you like one? A few people have asked us if the hats are for sale. At this time the hats are not for sale, but we might change that if demand ever justifies it. For now, you'll have to visit us at one of many upcoming conferences if you want a hat. If you think we ought to sell hats, t-shirts, and other SarCheck paraphernalia, let us know. For now, we're happy just licensing software and dreaming up new products for next year's trade shows. A special note for people who want hats but don't care about software: This page gets a lot of hits from people who are using a search engine to find propeller hats. If a search engine brought you here and you're just looking for a hat, hit your browser's "back" button, pick another link and you ought to find a manufacturer or vendor.
