GNUplot binaries

Here are some precompiled gnuplot binaries that SarCheck will use to produce graphs. The files are tar archives and the installation script is ./RTR

Simple instructions (please read them before downloading the file):

  1. Decide on a directory to be used during the install, cd to that directory, and put the tar archive in that directory. Please be sure that there are a few megabytes of space available and remember that if you're FTPing the tar archive from a Windows box to a UNIX system, you'll have to make sure that the Windows FTP program knows that the file is binary and not text.
  2. Extract the files from the tar archive and run the installation script. The following command is an example using the Solaris version:
    tar xvf GNUplot_Solaris.tar ; ./RTR
A special note for HP-UX People: Bill Hassell has used this version of gnuplot and has given us some installation instructions that he likes better. Feel free to take a look and install it in whatever way you feel is the most appropriate.
  3. You're generally safe accepting the installation script's defaults, but if you want to have a better understanding of the install script and what it will do, here is more information from the folks that compiled GNUplot.
  4. The tar archives are below. Just click on the one you want.

Please note: We did not produce these tarballs. They come from Ready to Run Software and are here for your convenience. A user has reported that the ./RTR installation script installs binaries for perl and info into /usr/local/bin without first checking to see if there's an existing binary there. This may not be what you want to do because the perl binary is for a relatively old version of perl.

GNUplot for AIX.tar
GNUplot for HP-UX.tar
GNUplot for Solaris.tar

These packages can be used to produce JPG and PNG files, but will not produce GIFs. We do not provide support for these utilities and provide only them as a courtesy.
